hello, tooth fairy...

Yay! Cart lost his very first tooth! He was so excited and got a whole dollar from the tooth fairy. The next night, he had second thoughts and thought briefly about trading his dollar back in to keep his tooth... big decisions.... well, he decided to keep his dollar after all.

over the holidays...

These are a few things I came up with over my Christmas break. I'll think I'll share them on Pinterest also... Since I stalk pictures there everyday! Hope everyone had a great holiday!

merry christmas sign-off...

This is our trusty mare, Sweet Sally. She's fat and sassy and literally only gets in a hurry when she thinks you have food. When I was taking a pic of a canvas this morning near the fence, she broke a sweat coming to check and see if I had her a treat.

I had to take a quick pic, she's so pretty!

well, I'll start by wishing everyone the merriest of holidays and a great start of a brand new year. I simply can't wait to stay around the house the next couple of weeks and spend some much needed time with my wonderful family.

Anyway, I am posting to say that I will be taking a lenghthy break from painting, and I will not be taking any orders until further notice - probably May, Junish...

Although I hate to do this, I have a really big job getting ready for Canton, MS Trade Days in the spring, and my family has been neglected for some time already. Thanks so much for understanding, and I'll catch up with you some time soon. Til then...I'll catch you on Pinterest! (my newest obsession)

new crop of cards...

okay, it so doesn't feel like it has been a year since last Christmas! Here are this year's crop of yard cards. Thank you to my patient customers, and I hope they turned out like you imagined them... I think they're fab!

(Thanks also goes out to my wonderful hubs for the assistance.)

thinking outside the box, or window...

This precious antique window was a little change from the canvas I usually paint on, but SOOO much fun! The bottom pic is the canvas I did a couple of months ago for Miss EK, and this window will make her nursery complete! Thanks again, Katie.

Sorry it took a while, but I hope it's worth it;)

a hunting they will go...

This top pic makes me smile everytime... it's of my two favorite boys going deer huntin'. This is usually a very 'serious' affair, luckily I got to snap this quick pic before they hit the woods. I think it is a bigger challenge for the big hunter to keep the little hunter quiet on the stand!

The second pick is of a few of the ornaments I had in my booth last weekend at the Holiday Boutique. Had a great time! It was so good to see lots of my favorite customers;)

party of 4...soon to be 6

Believe it or not, these are all going to the same humble abode. One big sis, three brothers, and twin boys on the way... what a houseful of fun! These are door hangers for their bedrooms with an extra medium for Aidan. Both Aidan and Cooper have a 24 x 36 one on the way, too. Can't wait to start on the twins' duds next! Thanks again, Erin.

for a new buckaroo...

pumpkin carver & indian... a little catching up too!

Well, so far this fall has been a whirlwind... holidays, parties, school, church, bronchitis, you name it, we've done it! I know things won't be slowing down any time soon, but I'll try to post peeks of orders more regularly. Happy fall to all! (don't you love the bent down ears from the headband! and don't worry, he was supervised with the carving knife at all times... he did however, come up with the design with of the jackolantern, wonder where he gets that creative gene from?...!)

for a new baby brother to be...

Baby Kyle will be here any day now, and I know his family can't wait to meet him. His mommy cashed in her Bee-Vine gift certificate given to her by one of her fellow photographer friends and let me in on what she had in mind for the design. She wanted to include an English bulldog in the scheme of things, because they have several pups as 'family' members. Hope you love the finished product Kyla! Thanks again, Kim.

sweet baby bentlee...

This birth announcement is for a new mother to be in preparation for her sweet baby girl. A good friend of hers ordered it for her, so I hope you both are as tickled with it as I am! Love this bedding and colors for a girl. Very unique and elegant. Thanks again, Kristi.

landon, redo...

Do the top 2 pics look familiar? Well, I painted this canvas/name board set for little Landon almost 2 years ago. When his sweet mama wanted to change up his room to a big boy pad, I offered to do a 'redo'. The pics below are the same canvas and board, just repainted with a new design. The theme I was going for is rustic, country, and little boy, all in one.
And the last pic, well, it's to compliment some cotton pictures mom had made of Landon and his little brother. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Thanks again, Margo. So glad you loved them!

since school started...

Okay, the first pic is of Carter's very first day of Kindergarten... I know, major expression of anxiety and concern on that sweet little face. Even though he went to PreK last year, he still was very unsure about going to "Mama's big kid school." Well, if you keep on scrolling down, you'll notice the obvious change in persona...

This is him 6 weeks later on the first awards day, where he got a certificate for make "All S's" and a coupon for a free pizza! His teacher, Mrs. Ard, has made the transition as smooth as glass and has started calling him her little 'turk. (short for turkey) He's quite the social show-out in his class.

And this picture, well let's just say this is one of his best buds, Joby, and they will be getting into much trouble together over the years... I took this pic right before he told me I could go on and sit down with my class, because he is sitting with his friends. I know, already grown, right?! I'm just glad he's loving him some big school now.

taking a break...

Well, it's time for the school bells to start ringing again... which means a new school year is right around the corner. In fact, I have only 1 whole week and 1/2 of another before I get to see my students' smiling little faces. With that, I will be taking a break from taking orders. If you have contacted me before now, please now you will get your order, but from now until further notice, I will not be taking on any new projects. This will be the only way I can keep my sanity as a teacher, 4-H leader, mother, and wife. Thanks for understanding, and I'll keep you informed of when the action starts back up with Bee-Vine.

we are family...

Yesterday, Cart and I went outside to collect some rocks for a little project. We decided to paint them to make up our family here at home. Although it only consists of 3 humans, he had so much fun deciding what other stuffed animals and outside animals to paint. (Don't you love the names of some of the critters!) Anyway, if you need a cheap and easy way to keep the kiddos entertained for a few hours, this is a great route to take.

my buddy...

Last month, my good friend Kim Danley, Dreamlife Photography, took these precious pics of my buddy. I really just can't get over the fact that he is 5 whole years old. these are a few of my favorites, and yes, it was extreeemely difficult deciding on which ones to order. Absolutely smitten with the last one of him and my dad. For anyone who hasn't checked out Kim's lastest work, click on her blog linked to the right of this page. She's amazing! Thanks again, friend.

for my crowville boys...

If you remember a few posts back, earlier this summer, I had made a 'Louisiana Boys' canvas for our good buddies. Their sweet mama, D'Ann, and I used to teach together, and Cart loves to play with Levi and Preston. Tomorrow, they will be visiting us from the big town of Crowville, so I decided to make them some goodies to add to their big-boy bathroom. D'Ann is one of those special friends that you can spend hours together and only scratch the surface of the meaning of 'catching up'. I make fun of her obsession of Louis Vuitton, and she sooo makes fun of my uncanny ability to remember absolutely everyone I've ever met or been in contact with. In fact, I think one of her goals is to find atleast 100 people in northeast La that I've never heard of or met... yes, sometimes it's a curse, but most of the time it comes in handy.

(Sometimes I go OCD with it and lie awake at night trying to remember the names of the kids in my first class I'd ever taught 9 years ago. The freakish thing is the names usually always come to mind... I know I'm a freak, but please don't tell anyone.)
