sweet baby cole...

Last week, one of my oldest friends, Tracey, had her third sweet baby. The other cool fact is that she is married to another swell buddy of mine, her high school (since the 10th grade) sweetheart, Kent. Sweet baby, Cole, is so lucky to have such a wonderful family to come home to.
The canvas above is going over his crib, to match the bedding (also above).

The second picture is proof of our lengthy friendship. This was on my 6th birthday. As you can see, Tracey is posing for the camera, I am very enthralled by the cool Cabage Patch Kid soap she gave me, and Georganna, well I really don't know what George is doing here.... Weren't we a hoot!? How about those outfits?... Can't you hear the 80's calling? (Especially with that rockin' printed shirt on the table I had already opened from Meg.)

Good times & great memories... congratulations Kent & Tracey!

caffeine much...

I had to post this sad, sad sight... This has unfortunately been my drinks of choice today. (not to mention the tea I had at lunch) Please excuse the dusty desk and random array of yellow post-its, it's been a long day.

And you would think I'd be all amped up right now.... maybe that's why I'm going in for extensive thyroid testing tomorrow. Yep, I gots some problems alright.

who said it would be fun?...

Okay, for the past two weekends in a row, we have been renovating our house little by little. What I mean is, I have been deciding on what needs to be 're-did', and my wonderful, patient Ben has been assisting. This past weekend, I managed to finally complete my bathroom project that has been in the process since July. (Stop laughing Martha, I know you're reading this.) Anyway, I am now on to my next project...
Painting the Formica in my kitchen! A good pal told me that Lowe's now has a wonderful kit to repaint old Formica and make it new again. This said kit only costs $25.00 and covers 25 feet of counter space. We got 2 kits, just in case. The real kicker is that you have to wait 3 days on it to dry completely... yes, I said 3 days of not touching. This should be interesting. Not only do both of us grown folks have habits of automatically setting everything on the counter as soon as we come through the door, but Cart is a semi-permanent 'counter ornament' as he sits perched, watching me cook. Anyway, I'll let y'all know the outcome.

my lonely little shepherd...

For our church Christmas play, "The Animals of Christmas", my Carter was a shepherd. (Well, he started out being a sheep, but decided he wanted to change to a shepherd a couple of days before the play.)

The whole play, he sat with his back to the audience until the last song. That's when he decided to go sit on the front steps of the stage alone, after I told him he could not go sit with Big Daddy and Mat. Oh, and he did know all the songs they sang, but would not sing a word of any of them that night. I wonder where he gets all this stubborn behavior from... (his daddy)

you may have heard...

Well, I'm just going to come right out and say this...

I'm cutting way back on projects for this year. The only items I will be painting will be large canvases and large wood Christmas cards. I have over-worked myself into a crazy mess, and I have been forced to re-evaluate my priorities. When a little 'side business' gets in the way of church, family, and work, you've gotta to what you've gotta do to fix things.

Don't worry if you've already placed an order with me, or spoke with me before the holidays about a project. You've been accounted for.

I just have to do what works best for me for a while. Thanks to all of you that has made my little business such a success over the past two years.

If you will notice I have changed up the item/price list and deleted all the posts of things I do not carry or paint anymore. I really hope you understand my intentions.

orders unveiled...

Hello, folks! Well these are a few Christmas orders that I could not post until they were received as gifts. I hope everyone's holiday was great. Here's to a new year!
