it's a beautiful day...

With it being such a beautiful (pre-spring) day outside, we're pretty much stuck in with my Cart being a little under-the-weather. I found myself in the mood to paint some delta farm scenes. These are going straight to Delta Designs tomorrow, so come on by and pick yours out!

Catching up to do...

Crafting, losing teeth, fishing, tending to chickens, and playing with Skipper, the bunny, are just a few of the things we've been up to this fall and winter. I have recently slowed down my painting business and after the first of the year, will only be doing custom orders exclusively for Delta Designs, my friend Rebecca's store, here in downtown Oak Grove. If you haven't dropped by, you need to!  Check out her facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Delta-Designs/520224944738136
Busy is an understatement!  I went back to teaching Home Ec. at Forest High this fall, after a lengthy dabble in Junior High English. (It's good to be back in the saddle!)  We try to soak up as much family time as possible. Loving our simple, country life!  Oh, and sorry for not including the donkeys and Sally in these pics....hope they don't get offended!

I love the old south...

Here is a recent order I completed for one of my customers. Love the colors and richness of this taste of the old south.

yes, i said facebook...

Okay, as most of you know, I am not an avid facebooker, but I decided to go with the hipster flow and plug my business by setting up a facebook account to post pics of recent projects and orders I have been working on. It will also keep everyone up to date about upcoming paint parties and important info. So go by and check it out!

my 'sassy' graduate...

Monday I will shed many tears as my niece Mary Cait (known as Sassy by all her family), will graduate from Forest High and head out into the wild blue yonder of Louisiana State University this fall.  The past 18 years have passed way too fast. She is gorgeous both inside and out and has had me captivated all her life. I love this sweet girl as much as if I had birthed her myself. It just makes me freak out to think how fast my own little man will grow up and fly the coupe. Congratulations, my sweet Sassy. We love you so, so much!!!
And great job to my friend Kim @ dreamlife photography!

a whole lot of paintin' goin' on...

Here are a few things I have been working on lately... enjoy!

what we've been up to...

since the holidays, we've had several "inclement weather days" home from school. cart and I went straight to work in the paint room, cranking out the goodies. these are his creations that he plans to sell at my next festival and keep all the money for himself! not bad work for a 6 yr old, if I do say so... my job was to outline for him, leaving him the job of painting in the design. don't you just LOVE his gator?!

on to a new year...

I hope everyone had a delightful Christmas and New Years! Although the break from school was lengthy, we all know how fast it went by. I definitely took time to reflect on the year past, and look into my future in the year to come. One of the decisions I have come to is that I CAN'T stop my painting addiction completely... yes, you read right... my name is Sarah and I am a paint-a-holic.  I have gotten so many complaints from my faithful, wonderful customers on my hiatus! I do have good news for the upcoming year. I will be back to the brushes, but mainly under my on discrepancy... that means the only things I will be painting are things to sell at future festivals, which I will keep you updated on.
Thanks so much for your continuing support and appreciation of my beloved, blessed talent. Can't wait to see what 2013 brings!

something for me!...

Okay, so I know school just practically got out, but I decided to get a jump start on my classroom for next year. This is a 24x36 canvas I already had hanging in my room, but I recovered and redesigned it to go with my next theme. This saying was pinterest inspired, and I love the way it turned out.
Oh, and I had to include a new pic of our Buster Brown. Love this pup!

graduation & a new pup...

We're so proud of our Kindergarten grad! He is definitely ready to be thought of as a "big kid"! Also, check out the ears on our latest addition to the fam... meet Buster, our Basset Hound pup. So sweet and has such a mild, lazy temperament. Just the kind of dog we need around here!
