Yesterday, my 10 yr old niece, Anna Beth, came and spent the day with Ben, Cart, & I. She lives in New Orleans and has been coming to spend time at our house since Ben and I were newly married. (She is a trip and very much like her favorite aunt.) We had a fun filled day of all her favorite things! She's also really good with Carter and LOVES to paint. Here are a few pics from our day.

The top pic is the canvas I made for her birthday last month. She is very much a girly-girl but not a fan of pink.

another saturday to enjoy...

This Saturday, I will have a booth at Bayou Customs Spring Market and Car Show in Bastrop (right beside Silver Spur). I will be taking orders for my larger canvases, along with my cross and fleur-de-lis canvases and wood signs. Come on out from 9 - 5 and have some fun!

5 years...

Can't believe my baby is 5 today! Time flies... This morning, before school, he was eating his breakfast cake with candle. I said, "I can't believe my little baby boy is 5 years old." His reply, (with chocolate frosting smeared on face) "Wait till I'm 50!"

I thought about that and decided I'll probably take fifty a little easier than five!

I'll start off by saying how much I adore this time of year. It makes me only appreciate God's creation even more. All around us are signs of his never-ending love for his children. This week, we have been on our spring break, and I'll have to say I have tried my best to take time to enjoy my wonderful family and life. (including playing Star Wars, super heroes, and Tuff Puppy, all wrong, according to Cart... he is very bossy and never lets me have weapons, eventhough he gets all the cool stuff like shields, swords, and fire suits while I'm stuck with a golf club, dangerous...)

Second, I am so blessed to have a wonderful, hard working, kind, good-looking, hunny of a husband (of almost 8 years) and a precious, mischievious, hilarious, healthy, bad little boy. I feel like I don't stop and say thanks for all the awesome things God has blessed me with often enough. I also feel very blessed to have a talent of painting and creating things that bring smiles to faces and hearts.

Happy early spring, everybody... I hope you'll stop to enjoy it.

Well, we made it through the whole procedure like a champ! Carter is in his 3rd day of recovery and practically back to normal... poot jokes and all. We give thanks to all who prayed for our little one's health and recovery. God is good. These two canvases are a product of being at home for a couple of days.Trying to get stocked up for the Catfish Festival in a couple of months... I guess I had faith on my mind.

These are two large (24 x 36") canvases for the little brother and sis of cowgirl Maci. Love the way the cowprint turned out. The monogram on Mauri's is also elegant/girly to go along with her pink & brown room. Thanks much again, Kelli, for letting me create 'pretties' for your kiddos!

Oh no, here they go... having fun in our Louisiana 'sneaux'!

Yesterday, we learned Cart would have to have tubes put in his ears and tonsils/adnoids removed on the 24th... this should be interesting. Poor baby has hardly ever been sick until recently. When he did get sick, it was something major... like the flu or Roseola. Anyway, after about a month of not hearing well and ear infections left and right, we finally got in to the ENT and the results were pretty much expected.
He's growing up so fast. I can remember the fear in my heart when he was in the NICU after he was born. I can't hardly stand to think about an IV in that little hand again... I guess that's why he's a mama's boy. His little sideways smirk and red stork bite on his forehead get me every time. I know this procedure is very routine and will turn out fine... it's just me being a worrying mama. As of right now, he's okay with the thought of hearing better and his throat getting well. The fun will start after the surgery, I'm afraid.

I hope everyone is having a great new year! I will start by saying I am planning on down-scaling my 'little' business a great deal and finding more time to enjoy my family. This school year has flown by so fast, and before I know it, Cart will be driving his own self to school.
I will be continuing Bee-Vine parties, but only booking 1 a month. Sorry to do that, that's just what I have promised myself. As of right now, I've got only February and May open before summer, so if you would like to book, please let me know soon. Thanks again to all my faithful customers and clients.
